SSENSE CHANGE

For many young adults and aspiring stylists we mixed and matched clothes with a popular fashion platform, Polyvore. One could win competitions to fashion week, gain deals on your favorite designer brands, receive gift cards to popular online stores, shop for coveted trends, and test out your own personal wardrobe in cute sets. The app helped expand several style and create an online following centered around fashion.

However, polyvore is no more. The iconic fashion app was acquired by SSENSE. Notably, SSENSE is a e-commerce website that already had an enormous following. The site enables subscribers to make online orders from over 400 stores and be updated with fashion trends on their blog. Their blog showcases fashion statements throughout the years, along with today’s current trends.

This function is similar to the online shopping search engine that polyvore showcased. Despite the similarity to polyvore, SSENSE still does not offer a outlet for members to create. The lack of fashion set innovation has caused an uproar over the acquisition, of the Oath Inc. subsidiary of Verizon. Due to the lack of sets, a term utilized for promoting your own fashion mood boards, the acquisition has struck uncertainty.

Particularly,  the 20 million active members are upset. The lack of knowledge on the acquisition has caused some hurt. Many users are at loss for the connections and friendships they’ve forged on the site. While, others are still trying to piece how they can access their property, mood boards they’ve forged.

While many like myself are searching for another fashion outlet admit the acquisition, there is still significance to SSENSE. The expanding site has brought upon us a large market to shop from.

The hope of the site rests in the vast brands it offers us to browse from. Subscribers can search by style, category, gender, and brand. SSENSE also has a search engine to help one navigate the thousands of clothing options available. To refine searches on can sort by price and newest availability.

So, SEENSE may have rid itself of our favorite fashion mood boards but it still holds promise to providing us the best online shopping experience. SSENSE offers the future of e-commerce based clothing stores. What we can take from this acquisition, is to SSENSE change.

D.C. Outfit

Societal influences of political and medical dramas have shifted my outlook of fashion choices in big cities. Personally, D.C. is metaphor for its economist, political animals, and media personalities. All whom belong to the professional world.

So, after watching the thoracic surgery I was able to change into something chic and noteworthy. An outfit that would be a professional must have. I decided upon a Draper James dress from Reese Witherspoon’s line.

The Draper James‘ dress was the essential choice for strolling through America’s capital. Notably, the dress was knee-length and slimming. So, it added a feminine figure to my look. The dress itself had a delicate lace pattern at the top. It paired with a cute thin velvet tie and then meshed into a velvet dress.

Hot Tea and Priorities! Having a great time wandering around my favorite DC museums in my @draperjames velvet dress and @sheinofficial hat! Shop the full look and read about my museum trips in today’s blog! #fashionblog

To match this outfit I decided to accessorize. Due to the colder weather I opted for a faux pearl beret from Shein. The adorable pearl studs mixed in nicely with the laced sleeves of the dress. Likewise, the Coach jacket I wore had a milky black color that tied in with the dress. As for shoes I opted for my TOMS wedges. I wore my dark dessert themed pair. Since, the weather was cold I added faux leather gloves from Coach.

Enjoyed seeing my favorite museum in DC today. So glad I got to save my @draperjames dress for the occasion! You can see a the pictures from the mammals and hope diamond exhibit on my blog today! #fashionblog #ootd

Bardot 2018

The term Bardot has stemmed from the iconic french model and actress, Brigitte Bardot. She was popularized for often wearing off the shoulder iteams sporting a bare look. The sexualized 1950’s style then evolved into current fashion statements.

The name Bardot then ventured to be a high brand clothing store. Bardot, the Australian brand often promotes styles from the famous namesake. There seasonal trends, especially summer and spring still showcase the infamous Cannes film festival look Brigitte pulled off.

Now in the 2018 spring and summer fashions have decided to reflect the off the shoulder look. Some stores are even calling these products bardot tops and dresses. So, the iconic look has made a comeback.

The off the shoulder style was one I decided to try. To style this bardot look I choose a lighter color dress. The pink and creme gingham pattern dress was to accentuate feminine style. Likewise, I choose a dress with girly frills on the bottom cut of the clothing iteam.

Since off the shoulder dresses normally have a straight cut often making it hard to make a figured tailor, I opted for a belt. I went with a pale pink waist tie belt to accentuate a formed look. I then paired the dress with a pair of light pink heels with floral designs for a fun mix of prints.  I then added more accessories to the mix with a pale pink sorority layered choker necklace.

This clothing  choice was the perfect summer outfit.

Seven For All Mankind

I’ve only worn jeans from four three different brands. Once I find a brand I like I tend to wholeheartedly committ to it. My wardrobe staple brands are like my life long relationships; dependable and always on my mind.

So, when it was time to get a pair of jeans I wouldn’t ruin out at the stables or rescue I decided to go with my all time denim must have brand, Seven For All Mankind. Since, its start in 2000 I have been a fan and ultimatly cherished every pair I’ve gotten from them.

Seven For All Mankind jeans have been a great fit and ultimatly good for a night out. Every pair I’ve gotten from them has been fit and detailed. The designers Dahan and Glasser saw the brand as a way to fufill the void that is often seen in denim appearal. They both sought to make there jeans specific to detail and with enhanced embrodiery to subdue the lull in contemporary denim markets.

My most recent pair of Seven For All Mankind jeans I’ve gotten was there camo denim jeans. The jeans are tailored nicley. They also host good embrodiery in a gold color in the signature “A” stiched on the pockets. Along with that the detailing on the jeans is subpar with adorable gold star studs along the pockets.

The jeans are great to pair with a bodysuit and heels. Personally I utilized my Shein mesh body suit with a pair of black platform wedges. This outfit is great for a night out in Perth.

Love the denim camo print trend right now and my @7forallmankind jeans! #fashionblog

Holiday Dress

With New Years right around the corner it is of uptmost importance to celebrate. One of the ways loads of people do so is with Holiday parties. This normally has a ridgid dress code of metallic and glittery dresses.

However, this year I decided to further myself away from the typical silver and bronze metalic look and go for a more softer party dress.

Notably, I still picked a statment dress to help me celebrate the new year, yet it was not loud with sequins and sparkles like mine in years past. I have so far found it away to stand out from the extensive amounts of glitter and club styles everyone else sports.

Instead, this year I opted for a bold color with hints of gold threading. I picked a hot pink skater midid flair dress. The dress incorperated a creme french drappery pattern. This pattern was highlighted with gold embrodery. The dress compared to other years is simpler and quiter. Yet, it is still in a fun color and with contemporary needle work.  I styled this outfit with nude heals. Also I added accents of creme and gold necklaces and bangles. This achieved look was fun and frilly.
