The whole store is a hidden online gem.

Missguided Top

In 2009 Nitin Passi founded and jump started the international, UK based, brand Missguided. Since its humble origins the brand has now expanded into an iconic label in young adult fashion.  Missguided is a lovely clothing site that can turn your wardrobe into a statement promoting edgy and creative looks.

The brand promotes flirty and dreamy fashion products for each occasion. Missguided offers several fun patterns from floral to snake skin prints. Likewise, there are several refreshing denim cuts that are a classic for all trends. Basic apparel or the necessities were given a modern twist. All products represent bold and fun lifestyle wear.

This weekend I kicked off my Friday with a classic pair of lace jeans. They were my current favorite style of tie, high waist denim. The lacing on the rib-bits were creme along with dark stitching on the sides.

To pair the outfit I choose to wear my new Missguided bardot top. The blouse was off the shoulders and had curled trimmed cut. The crop top was hemmed and offered a slimming feature with its neutral coloring. The blouse was a petite wardrobe item. Thus, making it wonderful for my small 5’2 frame. I had the crop top in my closet for a while so I was overjoyed to war it.

Finalizing, my outfit choice I elected to match my outfit with a pair of black platform open toe wedges. They added a little bit of height to the outfit. The shoes also color coordinated with my Missguided top.

Easter Sunday Outfit

“And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power.”  1 Cor. 6:14

While Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus and celebrating the arise of new life, first world culture still places significance on Easter appeal. Whether it be from the brunch too a Sunday service there is an unspoken dress code for an Easter outfit.

The first unspoken word is to wear a softer color. Particularly, a pastel color works wonders. The popular color of the spring season is yellow. However, I wore a light pastel pink dress. I also saw multiples of lavender and baby blues throughout the day.

In the same fashion, a spunky print is also recommend. Polka dots and stripes were common due to the 2018 trend. Yet, the season classic and staple is to wear a floral pattern. Simple floral patterns that are stunning are daisy and roses. Also stitched outlines of flowers add an elegant touch. In my dress I had embroidered flowers and butterflies adorning the dress.

Likewise, length actually matters. On Easters mini skirts and bodycon dresses should be avoided. A general guideline is to follow a business casual protocol, especially if you are going to be in attendance for a church service. A mid-thigh for skirts and dress length is a general standard for the holiday event. For those that are petite like me, an often struggle with this unspoken rule, can wear a shorter trim line skirt with mesh extending the length protocol. This is what I did with my dresses skirt line. The actual dress was shorter, yet the mesh was longer.

Notably, the last unspoken rule is shoes. While, I’m a fan of funky and edgy shoes that often make my outfit pop, I choose to follow the monday wardrobe capsule. A plain pair of heels that didn’t exceed 3 inches. I went with a pair of rounded nude heels. Similarly, white, grey, navy, or black heels would work as well.

Spring top

My outfit of the day was a more casual look then normal. When I’m not in scrubs or dressage apparel I try to wear chic outfits. However, I wanted to have a simpler look for taking my dog out to the park.

So, I sported my favorite brand and basic wardrobe staples. I opted for a cute flowy off the shoulder floral two way top from Billabong. The base of the top was black with soft white pink and yellow flowers printed among the top.

I then paired both with my favorite pair of jeans. A white lace up high rise denim jeans from Billabong. The jeans are a staple of mine due to the nice fit and stylish edge the lace provides.

Likewise I then matched the outfit with cute wedges I got from surf stitch. The black vegan pleather wedges provided height and a cute edge with the jeans. The little heel on the wedges helped elongate the outfit. To accessorize I wore a friendship bracelet from a sorority sister and a cute toe ring from the sawdust festival.

My outfit was laid back. Yet it still flowed nicely with the spring feelings, especially since Perth is in the “winter” season. Overall the outfit was ideal for a laidback warm weather look!

Summer/Spring Straw Hats 2018

The perfect accessory doesn’t have to be an embellished handbag or bejewelled choker. Instead they can be something as simple as a hat. Particularly, the summer favorite straw hats. This is a great accessory for the warmer seasons.

A straw hat is a classic spring/summer staple. These hats are perfect for the heat-giving off uv protection and shade. Not only do straw hats provide ample coverage from the sun, but they provide opportunities to match your outfit.

The straw hat as been a southern couture item for decades. A current trend has been to add darling sayings in cursive text on the back brim off the hat. An Italian trend has been to adorn the hat with a cut piece of ribbon adding a girly flair.  Other styles included attaching flowers into the upper part of the hat. Notably, each trend is an elegant way to accessorize during the seasons’ fervency.

In similar fashion, the brim of the hat can correspond with an outfit. For an instance a floppy hat could be desired for pool side lounging or a brunch attire. Likewise, a shorter and more rounded brim will pair nicely with a less formal look of a skirt and dress. Either brim length can complete an outfit.

I utilized this straw hat trend when I went to the lake today. I wore a cute vegan suede skirt with a t-shirt. The casual look was topped with my straw hat. I choose one I had acquired in Florence a few years ago. It has a more rounded brim and tailored creme ribbon attached to it. The chic hat pair nicely with my TOMS wedges. The hat also provided a cute way to stay cool as I strolled around.

pastel sweaters

While I’m in a warm state of Western Australia,  there are still places that are facing a spring like chill. With the colder weather in full force it can make it difficult to get into the summer time heat.
Recently, I’ve seen in stores bright and pastel colors to welcome in the warmer seasons. So, I figured a fun way to dress for the cold and still get into the spring/summer mood is by pastel sweaters.
Notably, the best item I’ve seen to capture the look is a pastel sweater. Not only are sweaters offered in several styles, but they come in multitudes of color. A cute baby blue, lavender, or princess pink can do wonders for ringing in the floral bloom. Best of all these sweaters can keep you warm while you add accessories.
To achieve this look simply, add pastel colored sweater to your outfit. Then  pair it with a neutral color. The contrast in colors can provided a soft and delicate look that supports soft-hue lighting.  This reflects a more muted look than the primary colors utilized in winter months.
When matching with pastel colors I normally “color block” with a beige, grey, burgundy, or brown. Warm weather seasons are months of fun for me, so I tend to add a print into the mix. Due to the colder weather I would spice up the look with warmer bottoms or shoes. For an example: leopard printed skirt, polka dot pants, floral leggings, or striped heels can add a great splash of excitement to any outfit. The mix print also contrast nicely with the outfit.

In the style set shown below I paired a pastel sweater with an animal print skirt. I then accessorize with pastel heels and hair clips. To neutralize or block I added a beige hand bag to do the trick.
